I got home and Tulip (nickname Tu Tu) was sitting in the walkway. I was talking to her as I approached her and she stayed there until I got within 2 feet of her and then she went under the bushes but came out as soon as I passed her. I came out and gave her some wet food. She gobbled that up, sat and groomed herself, then went into the front yard and was sitting under the tree. I think she is going to be okay. I will feel better when I see her tomorrow morning. This 1st night will be the true test.

She is so cute…she sits and studies you. I think TULIP (no Tu Tu) will be just fine. She knows the softy who will give her the great tasting wet food…spoiled already! But she deserves to be pampered after 9 hard years just surviving outside.

She knows a sucker when she sees one! I bet the neon blinking sign in my yard that flashes the word “sucker” is shining brightly right now.

I haven’t seen her all day. She wasn’t there this morning or when I got home from work. I have been outside since 6:40 looking for her. I know I need to not be so anxious about this but I can’t help it. I am worried about her. Food has been eaten but it could be any of the 4 cats I see. My mother said she looked outside almost every 1/2 hour throughout the day but never saw her. I hope she is okay. I was so encouraged yesterday but not now.

There were little dirty cat paw prints in the dog house where her bed is (the one she has been sleeping in) so I think she may have slept there sometime last night. I’m just not sure if something spooked her off. I can’t stop thinking about her. I know she has been outside her whole life and is smart but I can’t stop worrying about her. If I can just see her at least I would know she is okay and that she remembers where her food is and that she has a nice soft warm bed to lay in. She loves her wet food and I don’t think she got any today. I swear…I am going to get an ulcer from all this worrying…like I said I can’t help it.

I have a feeling this is going to be a long night. I don’t think I am going to get much sleep. I hope I see her soon.

Tulip was here when I got home. She is eating her wet food right now. I feel so much better now! She is so cute. She was just waiting for her evening meal.

I am so happy…I feel like this huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders and the lump in my throat is gone. Darn cats…it’s amazing how fast they worm their way into your heart! She just finished eating and is sitting between the hedges and the sidewalk grooming herself like she hasn’t a care in the world and is totally oblivious that I hardly got any sleep last night worrying about her.

Wednesday Tulip Update: I didn’t see her when I got home. But I put my stuff down and went to the kitchen to feed her. I looked out the door and there she was on the walkway waiting for me. She definitely knows my car and she has a routine now. Her internal clock is saying, “feed me the good stuff.” She really is a cute cat. In time I hope she lets me touch her. I want her to know the feel of a human touch. We’ll see.

Thursday Tulip Update: I never see her in the am but she was waiting for mom to give her the good stuff. She is too cute!
REPLY>8:34PM I’m very happy to hear about little Tulip, and that she seems to have a schedule. Maybe you don’t see her in the am because she likes to sleep in!

You’re probably right! It’s from the big meal she eats at night…it makes her tired! She is getting a little porky! I am so glad she is doing well and she is healthy.

Tulip hangin’ out in the front yard, tonight.

Waiting for mom to serve her dinner.

She’s great! Little by little I get closer to her. In time, I think she will let me pet her. It may be a while that’s ok…I’m patient.

Tulip has a friend. She was sitting side by side with the calico cat, while they were eating. Too cute! BTW…the calico cat doesn’t have a name or least I don’t know what it is. What do you think of the name Macie?

Who would’ve known that this bad thing that happened with cats being trapped at the church ended up with Tulip having a better life and her own blog! Life is great sometimes, huh?

I didn't get home until 10:30 last night, but when I pulled up Tulip was sitting in the walkway. I saw that her dish was sitting there so I knew my mother had fed her. I went in and heated up the disc and put it in the dog house under her bed. I waited to see what she would do. Sure enough she sniffed around and walked in the dog house and laid down right on the disc. She is so blasted cute!

I am so glad Tulip is with me now where I can really keep an eye on her in her senior years and she will always have a warm soft place to sleep and a full belly with not only dry food, but her much loved wet food.

Here's Tulip finishing up her evening meal.
Apr 19 2013, 8:58PM
Tulip just sits in the walkway every evening looking at the front door. She looks like she wants attention and to be pet but still has that fear of humans. She is so cute and I cannot wait for the day she lets me touch her and she finally knows the warmth of a human touch. I got within 3 ft. of her tonight before she went under the hedge. As soon as I back off she comes right back to her spot and sits and looks at me. She's slowly learning to trust but that's ok....I'm patient...she can take all the time she needs.

Tulip was waiting yesterday morning at 7 am for breakfast and she was there this morning, sound asleep in her bed on the bench. That is the first time I have seen her sleep there. I think she is getting more comfortable and secure sleeping out in the open and not hidden in a bush. She has finally found her forever home.

I put a nice soft cuddle bed (one that would fit) on the bench, and Tulip climbed right into it and curled up and slept all night in it. She was still sound asleep in it this morning. As soon as I opened up the door she sat up, stretched and yawned, jumped out of her bed and went onto the grass (this is the picture of her today) and patiently waited for her breakfast. She let me get within 3 arm lengths from her....progress. She looks happy and content.
